Projects and providers in the field Internet, multimedia and climate system in German speaking countries
Schools to the Net partially supported by the German gonvernment, partially by a private investor 'Schools to the Net' had the goal to make possible internet access for every school in Germany. The access is given now and the system is continously improved.
InfoSCHOOL II
(part of the Initiative school to the Net) supports projects, that aim the integration of electronic and multimedia sources in the lessons.
Teachers online is the national educational provider of Germany. The editors perpare information relevant for schools in online-journals, frequently updated news, on subject specific platforms, accompany the planning of lessons and give many hints for teaching.
lo-net
is the communication platform of teachers online. In private-, group- and classrooms interactive tools are offered in order to make possible a nation-wide exchange of experiences and ideas among teachers. ESPERE is running the grouproom 'climate change' (Klimawandel) on lo-net.
System earth
is a project carried out at the institute of natural science at Kiel University in co-operation with several research and educational institutes in order to make possible and interdisciplinary teaching about the system earth. Teaching concepts are developed with a special focus on geoscience but also climate change is part of the project.
Hamburg educational server The Hamburg educational server is one of the servers of German states, providing in co-operation with the server of NRW (learn-line) and the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology Hamburgals numerous websites about climate and energy.
ProClim Forum for climate and global change of the Swiss academy of science.
ProClim provides several sites about climate change in the Internet with a special focus on alpine regions.
